Stabilizer

Stabilizer

Also known as a centralizer, it is an important downhole tool in the bottomhole assembly (BHA) for oil drilling operations. The tool is run into the wellbore with the drill string and uses its centralizing ribs to contact the wellbore wall, thereby constraining the radial movement of the drill string. This enables stable inclination control, slope reduction, slope increase, and wellbore correction, while also suppressing drill string vortexing and reducing the risk of stuck pipe. It is widely used in straight well, directional well, and horizontal well drilling operations. It is available in both standard steel and non-magnetic steel materials.

    Features

    Integrally Forged Base Body

The body is integrally forged with no welded weak points and undergoes complete quench-and-temper heat treatment, providing resistance to impact and alternating fatigue.

    Multiple Centralizer Blade Configurations

The mainstream design features a 3/4 spiral rib structure with wide mud circulation grooves for strong cuttings removal capability. Straight rib structures are also available. In addition, a replaceable sleeve design is offered, allowing the sleeve to be directly replaced after wear, thereby reducing maintenance costs.

    API Standard Thread

Both ends are equipped with standard drill string threads, allowing direct interchangeability and connection with drilling tools such as drill collars and drill bits.

    Full-Bore Center Flow Passage

The internal straight-through flow passage ensures smooth drilling mud circulation and meets downhole circulation requirements.

    Advantages

    • Excellent wellbore trajectory control

The helical blade-based multi-point wellbore support system effectively suppresses radial drill string vibration and sticking/slipping vortex motion, reduces the dog-leg severity, stabilizes the wellbore trajectory, enhances wellbore quality, and lowers the risks associated with subsequent cementing operations.

    • Comprehensive operation condition coverage

Available in two versions: standard steel body and non-magnetic version; the non-magnetic model features low magnetic permeability, ensuring no interference with while-drilling logging operations; compatible with a variety of drilling scenarios, including straight wells, directional wells, and high-inclination horizontal wells.

    • Good Flow Capacity, Reduced Stuck Pipe Risk

Large flow channels are provided between the spiral blades, allowing smooth drilling fluid circulation and strong cuttings carrying capacity, which reduces cuttings accumulation and lowers the risk of differential sticking.

    • Mechanical properties – safe and reliable

Overall forged component with heat treatment – featuring outstanding tensile, torsional and fatigue resistance – capable of withstanding complex underground alternating loads and reducing the risk of underground tool failure.
