The thermal insulation tubing is a specialized double-layer concentric pipe designed for heavy oil thermal recovery (steam injection) and geothermal wells. It consists of an inner tube, an outer tube, and an intermediate insulating layer, with the interlayer filled with vacuum, inert gases, or aerogels. Its primary function is to minimize heat loss from high-temperature steam, making it a dedicated pipe for high-temperature, high-pressure downhole applications.

    Features

    The thermal insulation pipe serves as the "insulation tube" for heavy oil thermal recovery. With its double-layer vacuum insulation design, it reduces heat loss, protects the casing, enhances production efficiency, and lowers energy consumption, making it a critical component of high-temperature downhole production systems.

    Double-layer vacuum/insulation structure

    The inner tube carries high-temperature steam (≤350–400°C), while the intermediate insulation layer prevents all three modes of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation—with a thermal conductivity 90% lower than that of conventional steel pipes.

    Prestress design

    The inner pipe is pre-stressed to compensate for thermal expansion at high temperatures, preventing column bending or fracture and enabling long-term operation under 300–400°C conditions.

    Hhigh strength + corrosion resistance

    Both inner and outer tubes are made of N80/P110 super duplex steel, with an internal pressure resistance of ≥32 MPa, external extrusion resistance of ≥20 MPa, and resistance to H₂S/CO₂ corrosion.

    Metal seal + API thread

    Trapezoidal thread with a metal sealing ring ensures no steam leakage under high temperature and pressure, provides thermal insulation at the joint interface, and minimizes heat loss.
