Coiled tubing is utilized to convey the milling Bottomhole Assembly (BHA) for live-well milling operations, effectively removing cement plugs, bridge plugs, ball seats, and other wellbore obstructions. The entire operation is conducted under pressure, eliminating the need to kill the well or pull the existing tubing string. Furthermore, underbalanced milling significantly minimizes formation damage, ensuring that all operations are safe, reliable, and highly efficient.
Logging tools are conveyed downhole via coiled tubing instead of conventional wireline or drill pipe. The system adds logging capability to standard coiled tubing equipment, using an internal electrical cable (e-line) inside the coiled tubing to connect various specialized tool strings, enabling real-time data acquisition, recording, and signal processing. It is particularly suited for complex well conditions, including horizontal and highly deviated wells.
Coiled tubing conveys fishing tool strings to retrieve downhole fish, including drill pipe remnants, metal debris, bridge plugs, downhole motors, wireline segments, cable segments, and coiled tubing itself. Various wash fluids, including nitrogen and acid, can be circulated during fishing operations, washing the well while fishing to prevent secondary sticking of the fish. High-pressure washing, jetting, or dissolving of sand, mud, scale, and other debris at the top of the fish before retrieval simplifies the fishing process.
Through-tubing treatment operations are performed without the need to pull the existing tubing string, effectively removing sand, paraffin, scale, and other blockages within the tubing. This approach protects the reservoir while ensuring operations remain simple, fast, safe, and reliable. For complex well conditions, multiple interventions—including tubing cutting, abrasive perforating, and fishing—can be seamlessly combined and executed in a single run to achieve optimal results.
By running a small-diameter coiled tubing velocity string inside the existing production string, gas flow velocity is significantly increased. This enables efficient liquid unloading and restores natural flow in low-pressure, low-rate gas wells. The process is conducted as a live-well operation, eliminating the need to kill the well and thereby protecting the reservoir. Furthermore, no workover rig is required; operations are typically completed within a short time , reducing costs by over 50% compared to conventional methods. This versatile technology is applicable to vertical, highly deviated, and horizontal wells, with wellhead or in-well suspension methods selectable based on specific well conditions and client requirements.
